Many companies have been criticised for weaknesses in their board ethics including in some cases breaking the law.

In 2013 the repercussions of PPI mis-selling, of LIBOR manipulation, of the Deep Water Horizon, of the horsemeat scandal and other historic problems have continued to plague the companies involved.
