FORMER INTERIM MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION CHAIRMAN LAUNCHES NEW BUSINESS

Nick Robeson, former chairman of the Interim Management Association, has officially launched Hemming Robeson – a new interim management provider working exclusively at board and head of function level.
Robeson, who has worked in the interim sector for many years, said he wanted to offer clients a more select, personal service for key, senior management roles. He said: “The interim business sector has become rather commoditised over recent years and a lot of contract work is being carried out under the auspices of interim management. There are also a number of providers who claim to have ‘tens of thousands’ of interims on their books, which is a contradiction in terms.”

“We’re aiming to be different. We personally and rigorously select the best and most experienced interim executives. We meet them and psychometric test them, and we record them on video so that we can give clients a flavour of individual candidates. We also establish our interim executives into a community where they can talk to each other.

“Our extensive experience in the interim management industry has allowed us to see inside organisations and understand the problems they face. We know the interim executive community extremely well. We know how to identify individuals, based on their experience and background, as well as being able to recognise the appropriate chemistry that might fit with particular organisations.

“All our executives are results-driven and deliver from day one.”

Robeson says the next three to five years are going to be difficult for UK PLC but he is optimistic that excellent, senior interim executives will remain in demand – to lead change programmes, mergers and acquisitions, improve performance, manage and resolve crisis situations and fill vacancies at executive level while headhunters go to work hiring permanent replacements.

“Our executives have developed their skills moving from one critical scenario to another and their external help can be just the solution for companies negotiating tricky times ahead.”
